We are currently offering a rewarding opportunity for a Credit Analyst to join our Credit team. The focus of your role will be to ensure the credit quality of the Trade and Finance limits within the North-East region (Qld/NSW).  This is done through analysis of all key factors that affect our customers and their ability to repay their exposures. The role will both assist with the onboarding of new customers as well undertaking regular reviews of existing customers’ limits.

About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Credit Risk Manager you will support the analysis and research process which enables effective risk management and business growth, and you will be receiving training in the following key tasks to develop your skills and expertise in commercial credit analysis: 

• Conducting credit research, in-depth analysis on financial ratios, providing financial analysis, and risk assessments with regular portfolio monitoring to ensure information consistency with a clear risk management focus
• Reviewing existing Trade and Finance limits and assessing financial and other information for Risk Management purposes
• Making decisions within your lending delegation and make recommendations for customers’ limits that exceed your lending delegation
• Implementing and maintaining a risk rating model with the aim of reducing risk
• Liaising with internal staff and customers to ensure the accuracy of the submissions and the assessment process – ensuring the business is protected from risk
• Understanding of the PPSA, rating and review of securities position

About You:

To be successful you will easily grasp complex transactions and analyse the benefits of the idea of specific customer circumstances. You will also demonstrate:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a commercial mindset
• Two years or more in a credit or financial role will be highly regarded
• A strong sense of urgency and to be self-motivated and proactive
• Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills (both oral and written) with attention to detail
• Ideally with tertiary qualifications in business/commerce/finance
• A real passion for customer service and a willingness to develop an understanding of the issues that impact our customers
• The ability to work effectively both collaboratively and independently and agility to meet demands of an evolving business environment
