About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join the growing team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Data Engineer is a member of the Data Platform team who have a responsibility of ensuring the data and analytical platform is operational and able to meet business demand. The team also maintains data ingestion, data transformation/ETL processes and business data curation capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Development of data pipelines per business requirements and within the standards of the enterprise data platform
  • Develop ETL workloads to build innovative datasets that drive enterprise-wide analytical and reporting capabilities
  • Work with metadata-driven data ingestion framework to ingest data into the data warehouse
  • Provide support for Data Platform operation and optimisation ensuring data is always processed and available on time
  • Identifying new opportunities for data acquisition to fill gaps and enhance existing datasets drive higher levels of performance
  • Understand data requirements from key stakeholders and develop solutions to achieve business outcomes
  • Take ownership of the end-to-end process from requirements gathering to implementation
  • Play a key role in the migration of data to support a business wide transformation program

About you

  • 3+ years as a Data Engineer
  • Experience working with the Azure cloud platform, ideally Data Factory or Synapse
  • Extensive experience with SQL
  • Hands-on technical experience working with Snowflake and Snowpark
  • Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
  • A sense of ownership, excellent communicator, and team player
  • An understanding of Azure DevOps, GitHub or other Code Management or deployment tools, as well as working according to CI/CD and DevOps principles
  • Experience with data visualisation tools, Power BI, Tabelau
  • Experience with Python and Azure Functions
