About the Company

Our client is a private rural retail and service business based in Western Victoria operating for over 25 years supplying all seed, chemical, fertiliser and animal production requirements as well as general merchandise, fencing, and grain storage/handling equipment.  

About the role

Develop sound agronomic skills to provide advice and build excellent customer relations and commercial support for the achievement of the company’s objectives.   

Responsibilities

• Increasing the productivity, profitability and sustainability of farming enterprises while building long lasting partnerships with customers and delivering appropriate services and advice
• Promote and support the company as the leading provider of value add, agronomic services in the region
• To operate within the group as an effective team member, develop and enhance agronomy knowledge & skills and the service provision of the business
• Crop monitoring, soil testing and in field trial work

Education / Experience / Skills 

• Tertiary qualification preferred in related field, such as: B Ag Sci, B App Sci (Ag) or Dip Farm Services and equivalent
• Sound understanding of broad acre cropping and pasture farming systems
• Whilst previous sales experience would be preferred in agronomy; merchandise, general Agriculture experience will also be highly regarded. 
• Forklift licence, Agsafe accreditation preferred 
• Likes working in a team environment
• Has a continuous improvement attitude
