Summary

The Shared Services Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing corporate level HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting multiple work locations in a variety of states.  This position has responsibilities in functional areas that include, but not necessarily limited to, benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, on-boarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.

 

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Exemplify quality, professionalism, teamwork, and an excellent attitude in all work situations
  • Learn, understand, and apply company policy and government regulations in connection with HR related issues
  • Assist in growing and maintaining awareness and application of policies and procedures
  • Support employees at all levels in the use of UKG (Ultipro), our HRIS system
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed
  • Create and conduct training and development programs including new hire orientation and benefits enrollments
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
  • File EEO-1 and other compliance-based reports annually
  • Support paperwork processing of new hires and rehires, both seasonal and regular, for sites
  • Maintain UKG, the human resource information system electronic records and compile reports from the database
  • Maintain employee personnel and other related HR physical files including but not limited to new hire forms, benefits enrollments, time exception notices, etc. in an orderly and timely manner to ensure all necessary documentation is included and released only to authorized individuals
  • Processes employment verifications and miscellaneous requests for information
  • Support maintenance of company organization charts and employee directories
  • Conduct recruitment for open positions including drafting and placing advertisements within the applicant tracking system and external resources, evaluate and screen candidates for open positions, make recommendations for candidate interviews, schedule interviews and maintain candidacy files
  • Support farms/locations in employment advertising and keeping position openings current within applicant tracking system
  • And other duties as assigned

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, business, human resources or related field
  • Two to 5 years’ experience of demonstrated generalist experience in a multi-location organization
  • Experience with Human Resource Information Systems such as ADP, PeopleWorks, Paylocity, UKG/UltiPro, or Kronos
  • Ability to support and maintain complete confidentiality with Human Resources matters and documents at all times
  • Prior work experience in agriculture
  • Proficient bilingual, written and verbal, in Spanish and English is preferred but not required
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail and follow-through
  • Demonstrated strong work-ethic, outstanding customer service approach, exceptional interpersonal skills that lead to building relationships across the organization
  • Fully proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software as well as general use of other windows-based computer programs
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to flex work schedule as needed based on seasonal demands of an agricultural operation which may include weekends as needed periodically
