POSITION PURPOSE:

Load and deliver materials to Ag irrigation pump installation job sites across Central California.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Deliver material as specified by the supervisor on truck and trailer to customer job sites.
  • Collect finished and raw goods from vendors and return to the yard when required.
  • Responsible for securing and unloading cargo from vehicles.
  • Able to use basic electric skills to ensure safe correct installations when required.
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers and fellow employees.
  • Available for cellphone contact at all times with supervisor to receive ongoing instructions.
  • Record clean and accurate freight documentation, work orders, purchase orders, sales orders, and packing lists.
  • Assist in loading and unloading truck manually when required.
  • Be proficient in the tie-down and securing of cargo.
  • Wear Cal-West Rain uniform during work hours representing the company in a polite & professional manner at all times.
  • Clean and wash vehicle/equipment as required to promote the company, safety, and efficiency.
  • Daily Inspection (DI) of truck and trailer is a mandatory requirement of the position, reporting any required repairs immediately to your supervisor.
  • Report any job site or traffic incidents to your supervisor immediately. 
  • Be aware and comply with MSDS (material safety data sheets) on items carried on your vehicle.
  • Ensure all rest breaks are taken and documented on your time card.
  • Must learn the OSHA hand signals for coordinating crane boom movements.
     

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise a helper and take control when operating the crane of all individuals in the area. 
 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To hold this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Must hold a clean Class A driving license. Able to navigate with minimal assistance. Crane certification preferred. 
 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to understand and document project details on company paperwork and electronic media.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and climb for unspecified periods of the working day. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to travel locally and will be required to drive.
 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to high noise, moving mechanical parts, dusty environments, and all weather conditions, including cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
