About the role

This is an exciting senior position within the company, providing real and long-term career opportunities. Reporting to the Feedlot Manager you will oversee daily operations supported by the induction and animal health teams.

This role is ideally suited to someone looking to make the next step in their feedlot career, a person with experience in a senior role in a stock camp, intensive livestock production or livestock agency experience. 

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage daily livestock operations
• Manage the induction and animal health teams and respective activities
• Oversee livestock handling, animal health treatments, pen riding, cattle induction and dispatch including coordination of drafting/weighing of cattle in accordance company’s processes and specifications
• Completing of required paperwork 
• Maintaining compliance with the company’s policies, including but not limited to: WHS, HR, QA, Animal Welfare & Environmental obligations

Education / Experience / Skills

• Qualifications in agricultural related field or equivalent experience
• Strong commitment to animal welfare, health & nutrition
• Previous experience managing large numbers of livestock
• Ability to manage, lead and motivate teams
• Strong computer, written and excellent verbal communication skills
• High levels of self-motivation, and attention to detail
• Strong planning capabilities and initiative
