The mission of Egg Farmers of Ontario (EFO) is to provide consumers with a supply of safe, high-quality eggs at a fair price and a return to egg and pullet farmers achieved through fair farm pricing, within a stable national supply management system. This is accomplished through the efficient management of the production of eggs, research, product promotion and ongoing marketing activities.

 

Egg Farmers of Ontario is the marketing organization for the over 500 egg farmers and pullet growers in Ontario who account for 40% of total egg production in Canada, or 290 million dozen eggs annually.

 

Egg Farmers of Ontario currently has an opportunity for an experienced Marketing/PR Team Lead to join the team.

 

General Overview:
As the team lead for the Marketing/PR Unit, this role is responsible for strategic/executional planning, providing project management and budgeting for the marketing team within the Public Affairs Department. Development, execution and oversight of integrated marketing and public relations campaigns, which includes but is not limited to, consumer, retail, health, marketing, outreach and public relations activities and programs designed to maintain and grow egg consumption in the Ontario marketplace.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and execution of integrated marketing campaigns and initiatives, including consumer research, with a combined budget of $3 million.
  • Oversee the development and execution of EFO’s annual marketing campaign Real Farmers. Real Eggs. ? Effectively utilize market and consumer research to develop the center’s marketing plan and support the leasing efforts.
  • Responsible for developing specialty marketing programs, including but not limited to ethnic marketing, culinary outreach and nutrition programming.
  • Development and execution of proactive public relations campaigns, including but not limited to, Easter and World Egg Day.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of EFO’s sponsorship programs.
  • Oversees the development and execution of the outreach strategy for provincial and local events.
  • Coordinating EFO’s annual recipe outreach program.
  • Assists with the development and production of the Department’s annual plan and marketing programs blocking chart.
  • Lead, motivate, monitor and oversee team members work and performance

 

Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field.
  • Five years of relevant experience leading marketing/PR activities and thorough understanding of major marketing channels.
  • Experience working with an advertising agency on campaigns, utilizing various types of media.
  • Proven ability to develop, communicate, and implement strategic plans.
  • Experience collaborating effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and creative judgement.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced and multi-project environment
  • Computer literate, knowledge of marketing fundamentals and research.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written), special event coordination and resource (people and budget) management experience.
  • Strong team player, with exceptional collaboration, and diplomacy skills.
  • Superior organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage a number of ongoing projects.
  • A motivated, self-starter, who has the ability to work independently.
  • Basic knowledge of the egg industry would be an asset.
  • Bilingual in English and French would be considered an asset to this position.
