Position Overview


 


The International Grain and Oilseeds (IGO) business unit is responsible for implementing strategies across product lines to deliver industry leading supply chain solutions to our customers around the world. IGO’s diverse portfolio of people, assets and robust product expertise provide the critical mass to thrive in the dynamic domestic and international marketplace and achieve shared goals within the division and enterprise.


 


IGO is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Merchandiser Assistant position that will actively collaborate with team members and support business operations. The Senior Merchandiser Assistant will lead with a customer service-oriented approach in daily communications with supply chain stakeholders. He or she will be expected to approach prescribed work from a perspective of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a desire to lead and champion changes that deliver positive outcomes for the business. Job Responsibilities 



  • Partner with merchandisers to provide timely and accurate records for commodity and freight positions. Assist the merchandisers with weekly P&L reporting

  • Manage relationships with customers and vendors, providing excellent customer service. Process payments timely and effectively resolve any issues.

  • Review and analyze business reports, proactively addressing issues ranging from simple to complex. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.

  • Manage 3rd party inventory, ensuring positions are accurate and inventories are reconciled monthly.

  • Develop process and system expertise. Share this knowledge with colleagues to improve overall efficiency.  Drive improvement of processes and systems, identifying and implementing solutions that provide long term benefits.

  • Maintain an organized digital filing system which includes invoices, contracts, reports, and payment receipts

Requirements

Minimum 



  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • Ability to handle confidential materials

  • Proven organization and prioritization of multiple tasks

  • Basic understanding of general accounting principles

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong customer service and communication skills


 


Preferred



  • Experience working in agribusiness or container shipping

  • Leadership experience

  • Training, mentoring or coaching experience
