Job title: Monogastric Formulation Associate

 

Reports to:Formulation Specialist Team Lead

 

Job Purpose


The Monogastric Formulation Associate is accountable to provide strong support to our sales and technical team members to complete daily formulation requests and be an administrative liaison for toll manufactured feeds. The Monogastric Formulation Associate will work with a team of people who “do the right thing” for customers.


Key Accountabilities

 

• Ensure exceptional customer service

• Support the Nutritional and Technical team’s strategies
• Proactively support formulation requests and technical initiatives
• Maintain integrity and regulatory compliance as defined by CFIA and Health Canada
• Support product pricing and margin monitoring


Duties and Responsibilities:

 

• Complete formula changes as requested by consultants in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.
• Support relationships between the Formulation team, technical resources and Connect OnFarm sales consultants.
• Assist in the development of monogastric production guidelines, technical bulletins and training modules.
• Evaluate on-farm production records; identify concerns, trends and needs for action.
• Create and maintain plants within formulation software.
• Support the updates to ingredient nutrient profiles and pricing.
• Create and re-analyze formulations according to animal performance requirements.
• Assist in formula set-up for internal and toll manufacturing facilities.
• According to current regulations, assist in compliant feed label creation, updating as required.
• Assist in the development of a broiler breeder production database.
•  in providing problem-solving solutions to support customers as needed.
• FocusAssist on project completion in a timely fashion to support COF business goals and strategies.

• Passionate about creating Happy Customers by “Keeping It Simple” and “Doing the Right Thing” for both customers, MTJF and COF.
• Other duties are required and assigned.

Required Qualifications:

 

• General agriculture industry knowledge and/or experience would be considered an asset
• Ideally, a diploma or BSc in Agriculture, Animal Science or related discipline.
• Understanding of formulation, ration/diet balancing, feed mill manufacturing and/or accounting software programs would be considered an asset. Feed formulation experience is beneficial
• Understanding of CFIA, FeedAssure/HACCP, and Health Canada regulatory requirements would be considered an asset
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including Teams) and PDF applications
Working conditions
• Ability to work outside regular office hours at the discretion of the Monogastric Technical Specialist and the Formulation Specialist Team Lead (MTJF/COF Office), including evenings and weekends
• Ability to travel from office to offsite locations for training, meetings and customer visits
• Expected to reside at the Strathmore location

 

Physical requirements

 

Walking, sitting, standing, driving and flying to and from company operational facilities, customer locations or offsite training and events as required.
