Job Title: Precision Ag Specialist

Status: Full-Time, Permanent

Reports To: Precision Ag Sales Manager 


POSITION SUMMARY

The Precision Ag Specialist will be primarily responsible for the sales and technical support for Precision Ag based products and services in southern Ontario. Reporting to the Precision Ag Sales Manager, this role will be expected to create an exceptional customer experience, along with the ability to successfully diagnose equipment challenges and provide solution based recommendations. The ideal candidate is motivated, reliable and will take pride in working with a team that is committed to developing long lasting client relationships.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Successfully consult and provide value added recommendations to both new and existing clients.
  • Achieve sales goals while maintaining a trusted advisor status within the agricultural sector.
  • Prepare quotes, contracts, invoicing and other related documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with new equipment start ups, health checks and product troubleshooting.
  • Provide in-field support to existing clients during planting and other peak agriculture periods.
  • Participate in required product training programs and maintain a current knowledge of all products and services.
  • Participate in promotional and client educational events (i.e., trade shows, presentations, product training sessions, equipment demonstrations, etc.).

  • Ability to work in a quality, results driven and fast paced work environment.
  • Take initiative to proactively pursue and seek out opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Must be able to accommodate scheduling flexibility and extended hours during peak agriculture periods.
  • Be prepared and punctual for all scheduled meetings.
  • Stay up to date and adapt to changes in the workplace as well as changes to position requirements as required to facilitate proper business flow.
  • Be positive and courteous at all times, while maintaining a professional demeanor; be an ambassador for Devolder Farms Inc.
  • Proudly promote and support our team and clients.
  • Complete required reports/administrative work immediately or as required throughout shift.
  • Assist when necessary in the assembly and installation of equipment to achieve the successful completion of installations and service calls.
  • Ability to work in outdoor work environments and various weather conditions (i.e., hot/humid and cold work elements).
  • Physically demanding tasks (i.e., lifting, bending, twisting, climbing, reaching, and standing/sitting for long periods of time).
  • Ability to individually lift and carry heavy objects, up to 50 lbs.
  • Participate in compulsory training as deemed necessary for the role.
  • CSA steel toed construction grade safety boots in designated area(s).
  • Means of daily/reliable transportation.


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Two + years of sales or other agriculture related experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of agronomic principles is considered an asset.
  • Experience in farm equipment operation and/or service and repairs are an asset.
  • Experience with precision technology and equipment knowledge is an asset.
  • Ability to manage priorities, execute tasks efficiently and work under pressure.
  • Be highly organized in all work tasks, while exercising good judgment and critical thinking.
  • Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining speed and accuracy to ensure daily work requirements are met.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in English. Must be able to confidently articulate and break down complex agronomic and equipment issues to share with Devolder Farms’ employees and clients using easy-to-understand language and format.
  • Have the ability to actively listen to client concerns and offer solutions.
  • Maintain a calm approach with all clients, aiming for client success by being a supportive and helpful coach during the on and off-farm product onboarding and training process.
  • Proficiency with computer usage and applicable industry software programs.
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license and a clean drivers abstract.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Highly motivated and extreme attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Autonomous, honest and trustworthy.
