Our client is responsible for production, sales and marketing of fertilizer and sells a broad range of quality products to almost all agriculture and horticulture segments.

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Sales Agronomist to develop our business in and around the South Eastern Queensland and North Eastern NSW Region, based on good crop nutrition practice. This role represents an exciting and challenging business environment. The Sales Agronomist will be instrumental in taking our client and its customer base forward in the region in the coming years. 

Responsibilities

• The development and successful sales of the total client’s portfolio in the region based upon an understanding of financial expectations of the sales budget. 
• Application of agronomic, commercial and marketing knowledge and skills towards farmers, resellers and key stakeholders within the territories key crop segments. 
• Build relationships with external customers with a strong motivation to pursue new opportunities in a wide variety of crops. 
• Provide supporting crop demonstrations and sales promotional activities and transform them into value selling propositions. 

Education / Experience / Skills 

• Solid farmer and/or agronomic background. Minimum 5 years working experience within agronomic and/or commercial fields. 
• Deep understanding of agriculture business, specifically plant nutrition. 
• Strong commercial mindset with sales experience, enthusiastic and reliable. 
• Team player, self-motivated, adaptable and committed to the job. 
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and  written. 
• Proven planning and organisation skills. 
• This position is based in/around the Brisbane area - with frequent travel required within the territory.
