GENERAL DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Winery Modular Sales Lead position shall specialize in the sales of our modular treatment system in the wine industry BioFiltro’s containerized systems comply with the new statewide winery discharge requirement while being perfectly sized for the majority of the wineries in California. The position offers an exciting opportunity for the individual to get involved in all key areas of a project including prospecting, qualifying, and proposing solutions to meeting individual client needs. The Sales Engineer shall be supported by the BioFiltro team to ensure prospective customers are provided with the necessary technical, biological and operational understanding of our systems. Success in this position shall be measured by how many deals are closed, average sales cycle, and average size of the deal.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

 

 

Build and Identify Target Markets and Customers

 

  • Build relationships with consulting engineers, contractors, federal/state/local entities to build out and execute a sales pipeline focused on the California winery industry. Identify and attend conferences, seminars, and/or expositions.
  • Analyze the business development pipeline, customer needs, funding opportunities etc. to identify and prioritize key projects. Work with Sales management to set annual sales goals and pipeline development strategies.
  • Have a working knowledge of the regulations and permit(s) that potential projects will be subject to. Be able to quickly assess if BioFiltro is a viable candidate for the project and, if not, move on.
  • Maintain and manage project opportunities in BioFiltro’s CRM. Write and issue proposals with assistance from Sales and Engineering. Collaborate with other sales engineers to exchange best practices, workflow, and strategies. Serve as the main liaison for the customer during the whole sales process until contract execution. Provide project handoffs, including design criteria, to internal engineering team.

 

Lead Technical and Value Based Selling/Bidding

 

  • Conduct onsite visits to potential project sites to assess and understand required treatment schematic, process flow,
  • required upstream/downstream components, etc. Work with Sales and Engineering to prepare preliminary and final design and budgetary proposals. Be able to provide the design team with all information and technical knowledge necessary for preliminary design stage.
  • Identify key regulations that will drive technology adoption and design market entry to reflect customer needs. Work with Sales & Marketing to drive the communication of our value proposition. 
  • Maintain excellent level of communication and coordination between BioFiltro, customer, regulating authority, consulting engineer, etc. to ensure an efficient and informative sales process. Be the point of contact for the transition from contract execution to construction to ensure all customer preferences/requirements are met in the design stage.

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 4-year degree.
  • Direct work experience in the winery wastewater market and/or technical sales may be substituted for the engineering degree if sufficient in length and exposure.
  • 3+ years of experience in wastewater wineries, technical sales.
  • Hunger for success and detailed oriented as this will be a fast-paced opportunity to close multiple deals
  • Passion and ability to travel. This job requires the individual to spend a lot of time visiting potential customers and job sites while also networking with consulting engineers, contractors, vendors, etc.

 

 

WHAT WE’D LOVE TO SEE

 

  • 5+ years of experience
  • A four-year engineering degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Interest in becoming an Engineer in Training
  • Written and oral proficiency in Spanish
  • Passion and interest in climate change, water, healthy soils, and regenerative practices
  • Be a detailed driven person who can step back and analyze and strategize procedures and improvements that incorporate a broad knowledge of the business
  • Desire to dive in and pave new paths for our company

 

 

COMPENSATION

 

  • Competitive Base Salary + Commission $105,000 - $125,000 first year potential
  • Use of company vehicle (or vehicle compensation) and cell phone for work
  • BioFiltro pays 100% of employees medical insurance (HMO plan)
  • 401k

 

 

LOCATION

  • Must be based in California, preference to Northern California or Central Coast
