About the role

We are looking for a Support Officer Rural Products to join the growing team on a permanent, full time basis.

Elders Pakenham is looking for a motivated individual with a keen interest in agriculture and horticulture. Our business is extremely diverse with many crops including leafy vegetables, potatoes, flowers, trees, vines, nurseries, broadacre and pasture. We are based only 45 minutes from the city and the coast. Knowledge in agriculture will be favourably looked upon, however is not essential, as we will provide the training and development to get you up to speed with how we operate and assist our clients in providing the ultimate outcome.

For the right candidate we are committed to investing in and training to a high standard, this will include many opportunities to attend industry events and supplier workshops.

Responsibilities

As a key member of the branch, you will enjoy a varied day including:

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, recommending the Elders range of products and services that will strengthen the growth of their business
• Supporting inventory management, including in stocktake and dispatch
• Picking and packing orders
• Processing sales and performing sales quotes
• Attend industry events and training days

About you

To excel at Elders, you:

• Are comfortable and thrive in a collaborative working environment
• Willing to learn and listen
• Have an interest in agriculture and horticulture
• Are comfortable holding a conversation with suppliers and farmers alike
• Have an ability to provide a high level of customer service and cultivate relationships with current and future clients
• Have a driver's license. A forklift and light rigid truck license is preferred, however is not essential.
• Experience in agriculture highly desirable
