About the opportunity:
Playing a key role as part of Nutrien Ag Solutions’ Sustainability team. This role is responsible for the implementation of the commercial sustainability strategy in the Southeast Region. The ideal candidate will cultivate valued partnerships with sustainability team members, retail divisional and branch personnel, Nutrien Ag Solutions customers and other internal and external stakeholders while demonstrating strong agronomic knowledge and communicating the commercial sustainability strategy across the network.
Extensive collaboration will be required to successfully develop and deploy sustainability-focused solutions while supporting data collection efforts to quantify environmental performance.
In addition, you will
- Support the implementation of the sustainability strategy across the Nutrien Ag Solutions network, including:
- Recruiting Divisional and Branch staff to support Sustainability work
- Providing technology training and technical support to staff as needed
- Assisting with design, planning, and implementation of sustainability-focused solutions
- Understanding local farm production practices and assisting in grower engagement
- Identifying potential downstream partnerships
- Develop sustainability-focused materials for dissemination across the retail network to:
- Ensure consistent understanding of commercial sustainability across the organization
- Enable branch employees to deliver key sustainability messaging to our customers
- Establish processes for enrolling customers into sustainability program
- Reduce the burden of branch/agronomist engagement in sustainability by
- Meeting with branch staff and customers to launch solutions
- Assisting with data collection and quality assurance as needed
- Leading customer engagement as needed
- Assist in maintaining brand awareness and identity of Nutrien Ag Solutions and its marketing initiatives focused on Sustainability
- Represent Nutrien Ag Solutions at industry events and within industry associations as needed
- Work with team to support Nutrien’s Commercial Sustainability strategy
- Other duties as needed
About you

- 10+ years of experience in agriculture, sustainability, or a combination thereof
- Proven ability to collaborate between different areas of a business
- Aptitude for information technology
- Agronomic knowledge of crops grown in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
- Exhibits patience and diplomacy and enjoys helping, teaching, and leading others
- Understands the complexities of farming and can identify a grower’s challenges and opportunities
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- High-level strategic and critical thinking
- Courage to be a dissenting voice in team meetings
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamically changing business climate
- Works effectively independently and with exceptional time and priority-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
